Yevgeniy (Jim) Brikman loves programming, writing, speaking, traveling, and lifting heavy things. He does not love talking about himself in the 3rd person. He is the co-founder of Gruntwork, a company that provides DevOps as a Service. He's also the author of two books published by O'Reilly Media: Hello, Startup and Terraform: Up & Running. Previously, he worked as a software engineer at LinkedIn, TripAdvisor, Cisco Systems, and Thomson Financial and got his BS and Masters at Cornell University. For more info, check out his writing, speaking, projects, and photos.
My Projects
I'm the co-founder of Gruntwork, a company that helps startups get up and running on AWS with DevOps best practices and world-class infrastructure. Our mission is to make it an order of magnitude easier to understand, develop, and deploy software. We take care of all the "undifferentiated heavy lifting"—the grunt work—so that your team can focus on the products and services unique to your company.
https://www.hello-startup.net/ This book is the "Hello, World" tutorial for building products, technologies, and teams in a startup environment. I based it off of my own experiences, as well as interviews with programmers from some of the most successful startups of the last decade, including Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, GitHub, Stripe, Instagram, AdMob, Pinterest, and many others. If you're at all interested in startups, this book is for you.
